Mentorship Program
The Mentorship Program gives young adults with celiac disease or gluten-sensitivity enriching leadership and camp counselor experience. Mentors attend training the weekend prior to camp (July 13-14) and then are assigned to a cabin to live with younger campers for the remainder of the week. In this fun and life-changing experience, Mentors help Campers develop confidence and independence in living gluten-free.

Dear CDF Camp Gluten-Free Family,
There is nothing more transformative for a child with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity than spending time at camp. Campers learn life lessons while making friends that last a lifetime. If you ask any camper why they come back to "Celiac Camp" year after year, the answer is inevitably that they "feel like they are coming home" or that "all my best friends come to camp."
Here at Celiac Disease Foundation we are committed to fostering a warm and embracing community where there is something for everyone, in a strictly gluten-free environment. At CDF Camp Gluten-Free, campers enjoy sports, swimming, arts, high adventure and most importantly a vital "gluten-related disorders" community. In everything we do at camp we strive to ensure that your child is safe, happy, connected and having the time of his or her life.
CDF Camp Gluten-Free returns to Camp Fire Camp Nawakwa in the San Bernardino Mountains July 15-19, 2013.
We are pleased to announce that this year, in addition to our regular camp program, we will be offering a Celiac Mentor program for young adults ages 18-22. Mentors must be diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity and will participate in a two-day training session July 13-14, 2013 at Camp Nawakwa. Mentors will assist the camp counselors during the regular camp session and will be positive role models for the campers.
Thank you so much for allowing us to have your child at camp! We truly value and enjoy the partnership that we have with parents, and I know that your camper will have an amazing time at camp this summer!
To Your Health,
Marilyn Geller
Chief Operating Officer
