HIGHLIGHTS
Celiac Disease Foundation presented our Annual Education Conference & Food Faire on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, California at the Moseley-Salvatori Conference Center.
This year, for the first time, CDF presented the first annual, Champion For Celiac Disease Awareness award to Leah Resnick here with Elaine Monarch.


SPEAKERS included:
- Chaitan Khosla, PhD, Research Scientist and Professor of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Stanford University
- Ted Malahias, DDS, Researcher – Dental enamel defects and CD
- Richard J. Ottenstein, PhD, Psychologist – Psychological resilience of living with CD
- Annette K. Taylor, MS, PhD, President and CEO Laboratory Director, Kimball Laboratories – Genetic Testing for CD
FOOD DEMONSTRATIONS
- Jessica Hale – GlutenFreeda presented a gluten free gourmet food demonstration and tasting. For recipes click here
- Anna Sobaski of Breads from Anna demonstrated the many uses of her Pie Crust Mix including an assortment of sweet and savory fillings. For recipes click here
- The Sensitive Baker, the newest gluten free bakery in Los Angeles, provided rolls and breadsticks for the lunch buffet.

Everyone who registered for the conference received one of Trader Joe's new red Hawaiian flower shopping bags filled with gluten free goodies upon check-in at the registration desk and then filled them up with more goodies at the end of the day!
The Vendors displayed lots of gluten-free food samples and had products for sale. Glutino/GlutenFree Pantry, Bob’s Red Mill, EnerG Foods, Pamela’s and Mr. Krispers were just a few of the vendors who participated!! Click here for vendor list
A Continental gluten free breakfast and lunch was served along with GF beer tasting featuring Bard's Tale and the new REDBRIDGE by Anheuser Busch!
Author Karen Fine had her new kids' book "How I Eat Without Wheat" for sale and was available for book signing.
